Andrew Pitt

Andrew Pitt has been painting in watercolour since he was eleven and is committed to painting out “in the field” all year round. He believes this helps achieve a fresh spontaneous image. The atmosphere of the day also contributes to the way the watercolour takes to the paper. He tries to get the same lively, fresh look to the work he does in his studio. Andrew has had over 20 one-man exhibitions; he now exhibits in mixed shows at Earsham Hall Gallery, The Serena Hall Gallery, Southwold and The Ferini Gallery in Pakefield. In 2008 Town House Films produced an instructional DVD called Watercolour: Pure and Simple with Andrew Pitt, filmed near his home in Suffolk. He has also contributed many articles to The Leisure Painter magazine and has been teaching residential painting courses and demonstrating watercolour techniques for over 40 years.

His first book, “Seasons and Reflections: Notes on Painting in Watercolour” was published in 2019 and is now in its second edition. Andrew has produced many videos – filmed in his studio and outside - of full length watercolour demonstrations to help fellow painters (one has been seen by over million viewers).

Details of his courses and the videos, which are free to watch, can be accessed through the Courses/Video page on his website:
